Quote From Spurgeon

When you enter into worship with anything other than a mind and heart set on God and His Word the Devil will make use of every opportunity he can to distract you from a true hearing of the Scriptures.

Accordingly, he will embolden the gossips to proceed loudly and he will gleefully enable them to carry on as if they were in the market or in the laundry.  By so doing he will not only keep them from hearing and heeding but through them ensure that others fail to hear as well.

Satan loves a wagging tongue.  Especially when it wags hardest when it should be most still.  – CH Spurgeon
