Prayer Request and Announcement

First, please be in prayer for Jim and Sadie and their families in the death of her sister Jean and in the grave illness of his sister Polly.

As far as announcements are concerned- we will NOT, like some, be canceling our services on Sunday for the ‘Super Bowl’.  In fact, do pray for those churches which do and those persons who would rather stay home to watch a game than attend services and worship God.

Acts of Love

January 27, 2009 · Leave a Comment

February 15-21 everyone is encouraged to take part in ‘Acts of Love‘, our local version of a Tennessee Baptist Convention evangelism outreach emphasis (named ‘We Have a Heart for You’). The purpose of this emphasis is to encourage Christians to simply show Christ’s love in small but meaningful ways in their communities.

Project Ideas

* Distribute baskets of goodies to local police station, fire station, and/or local businesses
* Wash windshields and refill windshield washer fluid
* Prayerwalk neighborhoods, schools, etc.
* Offer to change burned out light bulbs or to replace batteries in fire alarms
* Deliver homemade bread to shut ins
* Make and deliver valentines to senior adults at nursing homes and senior centers
* Repair homes for those in need
* Provide front yard clean up or leaf raking service
* Pay for washing machines and dyers at local laundromats
* Give away stamps in the front of the post office
* Offer a winter car wash to spray off salt and road grime

Or is there another act of love you have in mind? Just do it!
